Our Mission

“Bringing upcoming generations to Christ for transformation”

What are upcoming generations?

Malawi has a population of 17 million people, and 80% are under the age of 35! In fact, half of the population is under the age of 15! This is a nation of young people, and many of them are moving into the cities every year at a rate that is one of the fastest across Africa. The overwhelming number of urban young people is the primary reason Flood Church was birthed in 2008.

Flood Church was started from the recognition that the majority of Malawians are still in the first 40 years of their lives, a phase of life in which life-altering and life-defining decisions are made: What should I do with my life? What kind of person should I marry? What kind of family should I raise? What kind of career should I pursue? What opportunities should I take? What values should I live by? Who should I worship?

Every one of these decisions has far-reaching implications in this world and the next, and since Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to make God’s best life available to us, our desire is to see young people make each decision under his life-changing love and authority. We welcome people of all ages, nationalities, races, and statuses in our worship gatherings, but we all combine our efforts and resources to do the kind of things in our city that introduce young people to Jesus as the one they should trust and obey in every area of life.
